This might be an unusual post for New Year's day, but it might be the perfect post to pause and reflect on the fact that this luke-warm rock has spun once more around the small star that is our sun. A quick lap that is a year, 100 laps that is a century, a 1,000 tiny turns that make a millennium, and at thousand of those millennia to take us to the start of our human story.
Birth, life, death. Again, again, again. The only constant sex and war. Over and over and over. Looking back of the full span, at the cycles that repeat. That repeat. Repeat. Can we ever stop this momentum?
There is the saying: if we don't know history, we're bound to repeat it. I believe that. But, even knowing history--seeing it all laid out so plainly and so honest: Are we, as humans, doomed to repeat the pattern?
I don't know. Sometimes I think we are locked into this inevitability of birth, sex, war, and death. As long as we are a species, there will be birth and death. But on this New Years, my wish for our race is simply this: less war, more sex.
Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward Men,

PS-I wish I knew the art credit on this series. It's really brilliant and beautiful.
